I have always felt a particular attraction to Mariano Fortuny's modernist style. Those dreamlike watercolors, those magical worlds where time seems to have stopped forever and it is we who surround it and leave it behind. That is why, for some time now, on some of my photography outings, I have been trying to find places that give my photography a more pictorial aspect, a folklore and an unreality that resemble the watery brushstrokes of a watercolor, reflecting that, even today, in this globalized world, there are still places that convey the magic of yesteryear. I seek a pictorial poetics, the dialectic between background and subject, a conversation between movement and pause, between time, space, and being.

Siempre he sentido una atracción particular por el estilo modernista de Mariano Fortuny. Esas acuarelas de ensueño, esos mundos mágicos en los que parece que el tiempo se ha detenido para siempre y somos nosotros los que lo rodeamos y dejamos atrás. Por ello, hace ya algún tiempo, en algunas de mis salidas fotográficas, intento buscar lugares que doten a mi fotografía de un aspecto más pictórico, de un folclore y una irrealidad que se asemejen a las pinceladas aguadas de una acuarela, que reflejen que, hasta hoy en día, en este mundo tan globalizado, aún existen lugares que trasmitan la magia de antaño. Busco una poética pictorica, la dialética entre fondo y sujeto, una conversación entre moviemiento y pausa, entre tiempo, espacio y ser.
